The Wilson River
The Wilson River Watershed flows from the crest of the Coast Range west of the Portland Metro Area down to Tillamook Bay.  State Highway 6 follows the Wilson River for its whole course.

The Wilson is a mecca for fisherman, hunters, hikers, mountainbikers, and off-road vehicle users.

Approximately 80% of the Wilson is part of the Tillamook State Forest and is managed by the Oregon Department of Forestry.

Four major drainages in the Wilson are designated as Salmon Anchor Habitats -- The Little North Fork, Cedar Creek, Ben Smith Creek, and the Devils Lake Fork.

The most recent recommendation from the Oregon Department of Forestry would clearcut most of the Wilson over the next 40 years.  You can see an image of their future plans here (WARNING BIG FILE -- 750K).
